An anthology of one man meeting five separate ladies, whilst living and working in West Africa, one was Ghanaian dancer in African Ballet, another was a visiting anaesthetist, another wanted to go a party dressed as a Sioux squaw, another was an adviser from HMRC, and the fifth came armed with a copy of the Khama Sutra.   20,100 words, 51 pages.

Our hero has been involved with horses most of his life and gravitates to the world of polo and racing in Nairobi, where his skills are much appreciated.  At first, he meets ladies with whom he had fleeting sexual encounters, which the book describes in detail.  The scenes vary from camping in the wilderness and then in a Game Park.  Almost by accident he meets our heroine, and her family, and on ‘Safari’ in the Masai Mara their love story accelerates.   31,640 words, 83 pages.

 

Singapore Heat, three men and three women.

The story is set in Singapore in the 1980s, when the young and dynamic country is still emerging towards social and economic independence.  Six people, three men and three women, who live and work there, become involved in a series of meetings over a four week period, between themselves, and other people from a wide ethnic range.  One character dies, or is killed, which bring the five characters together in court.  Three find themselves leaving Singapore, for ever.    30,450 words, 83 pages

 

Tsunami Tragedy, Ben’s wife is killed in the Sri Lanka tsunami....

The story is set in Sri Lanka, starting in 2004 when the Tsunami that originated off the coast of Sumatra tore into the south coast of Sri Lanka just after Christmas.  Ben’s wife is originally from Sri Lanka, but they had met in England to where Nilmini had fled when her first husband died over twelve years earlier, with her young daughter, Rohini.   Here the story takes a dramatic turn as Rohini, finds her feelings rapidly changing from love as a step-daughter to love as a woman, and wants to take the place of her mother in Ben’s bed!    23,780 words, 64 pages.

The story is set in modern day Ha Noi.  Nicky works as an organiser in a fashion house, and is asked to represent them at an Embassy Reception.  She dresses attractively and wears high heels to show off her legs, and has long black hair but worn in an unusual fashion.  She meets William at the reception, who is immediately attracted to Nicky.  The story unfolds as Nicky meets William again, and their mutual attraction becomes sex, and even wantonness.     24,420 words, 50 pages

Tony is a widower, but being a normal red blooded healthy male tries to find female company, and the book starts with several explicit sexual experiences that he encounters in parts of Vietnam and Cambodia.  One day he meets and is sexually attracted to a younger Vietnamese lady.  He finds this attraction actively reciprocated although the girl, Nicky, has previously participated in and experienced only very limited sexual activity, until she meets Tony!     27,000 words, 50 pages

 

Kandy Heat, never too old to be loved.

Harry decides to visit his family home of many years earlier.  He meets the tenant, Makshi, an Indian lady nutritionist, but whilst they are enjoying a coffee together a man with a baseball bat attacks her car.  He is confronted by Makshi and Harry, and attacks Harry in a drug induced rage, just missing his head with the baseball bat.  The baseball bat had a mind of its own and shatters the attacker’s leg!  Harry would have continued on his journey to childhood places and meeting old friends, but stays overnight with Makshi before she takes him to her hospital for x-rays and treatment and ‘after care’.    20,480 words, 57 pages

A middle aged man meets an attractive woman in the highlands of Vietnam, where they have both been working for several years.  A change of circumstances brings the two together initially for commercial reasons, and then for an opportunity to get to know and understand one another better.....  29,942 words, 65 pages.

Bill is working in a project and meets Binh who owns the local restaurant and the hotel at which he project team is staying.  Both are free and single, but their plans to make their relationship permanent are almost fraught by authority.  The pair of shiny black high heels seems to make a difference.   20,100 words, 44 pages

Similar names can cause problems, but sometimes these mistakes have a happy ending!

The story starts in London, via Cambridge, ending in Tokyo.  Roger Browne is a research scientist and accidently meets Roxanne Brown, wearing delicious red high heels, when a hotel mixes up their bookings. This is really a romantic love story, you’ll need tissues, but not for the under 18s.  16,300 words, 38 pages.

A small private cruise ship is chartered for a month’s cruise in the South China Sea.  The new First Officer is a very smart, highly qualified and competent lady, who keeps herself to herself until she meets the Captain…. when her knees begin to wobble.  The cruise is essentially a business reorganisation session, but some of the other passengers have other ideas.  9 chapters, 22,300 words

A Canadian journalist, aka Fred, finds a place to stay with a lady, aka Hufflepuff, and her adult son in Rotterdam.  At first it is very comfortable until the lady develops mid-life shivering fits in the presence of the journalist.  The shivering is prelude to several passionate encounters!  When the journalist is recalled to Canada he takes his landlady with him...   16,800 words, 49 pages.

If you’ve ever fancied working in remote parts of the world, you must read this:

Ivan wins a contract to work in the Hadejia River Valley, as agricultural advisor.  He finds the Project Director easy to work with and his widowed daughter lovely to look at and to look after him!  This book is based on a true story in West Africa, not in the steamy coastal area but in the dry semi-desert plains in the north.  Ivan is employed to work as the project agricultural advisor, he learns to speak the local language and finds that the farmer families in the villages good to work with.  He has the support of the project director, Mustapha, and finds his widowed daughter attracted to him.  The project has many twists and turns over the twenty year period, but manages to survive through wholesale fraud, corruption and contradictory government legislation, and manages to improve the incomes of the farmer families.
